Set among 9 acres of mature gardens, Elmswood Retirement Village has been part of Christchurch for more than 30 years. Our village is central enough for family to visit easily, we are small enough for staff to stay close and neighbours to become friends. You’ll see the same friendly faces day to day, and know there’s always someone nearby who’s ready to lend a hand. It's a place that is easy to call home.

We are so pleased with our choice of retirement village. Important to us long term, was that Elmswood offers levels of care from independent living to hospital level all set amongst neatly kept colourful gardens. We all watch out for each other here and help where we can with the many excellent village activities. It is entirely up to each resident which activity they participate in. The staff from top down is second to none - exceptional in fact - remembering each resident by name. This truly is a village in every sense of the word.

If there are any issues, I find the staff, from Management to the Carers on the floor, always listen and have solutions to make sure my mum is not only well cared for but also happy. I am so grateful for the excellent care, kindness, activities, meals, and medical care she gets everyday.
